Discovery Playtown

Play-based preschool in a unique learning environment

At Discovery Playtown, we believe that play is important work for children, and that it allows them to learn about their world and practice new and developing skills. At Little Explorers Preschool, we utilize a play-based approach to learning. Through stories, songs, games, art projects, circle time, dramatic play, hands-on exploration, and science experiments, children will develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our unique facility combines traditional classrooms with a large, imaginative playspace, making it unlike any other preschool environment. We have the ability to teach counting and sorting in our grocery store, food preparation and customer service in our diner, or housekeeping in our two-story playhouse. Through their observations and interactions with other children, kids pick up on valuable social cues and behaviors, enhanced by our dramatic-play environment.

BONUS: All day play is included on every preschool day! So if you want to stay and play after you come to pick up your child, we will not charge you regular admission! (This applies to the preschool student only. If you bring other children to play, normal admission applies.)

"Discover With Me" (Mommy and Me) Toddler Class
(Ages 18 to 36 months)
Thursdays 9:30am-10:45am
$150 per session ($25 per class)

Next session: Sept. 21-Oct. 26

"Discover With Me" (Mommy and Me) Toddler Class is part of our preschool program. Each class will include semi-private group play in our Playtown, followed by classroom fun. In the classroom, you and your child will discover different play-based stations designed to introduce your little one to the fun of learning. Stations will encourage a variety of learning styles and include large motor and small motor skills. Each week will focus on a different theme and feature different hands-on fun. This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with other parents who have children of similar ages while observing your child learning in his or her very first classroom setting. You will be able to ask Mrs. Goeke questions about your child's development as the class progresses, and gain insights into your child's learning at home. Note: this is not a drop-off class. The curriculum is designed for both adults and children, so one caregiver must attend the class with each child.
